Lt. Davis Harris' Plane When Down Over German Lines Sept. 12, 1918

From the Daily Times, Wilson, N.C, Nov. 11, 1918

His Plane Went Down

Mrs. W.J. Bokin of this city received news today that her nephew, Lieut. Davis Harris, a young man of about 22 years of age, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harris, now of Chicago, while flying behind the German lines on Sept. 21st, had his plane shot down. No other report has been made concerning him since that time and it is not known whether he survived the fall of the plane and is a prisoner or whether he was killed.

Lieut. Harris volunteered early in the war and has been a flyer with the American forces in France for a number of months.
