Zeba Wilson of Cooper Gap, N.C., Fallen in Famous Charge of Sept. 29, 1918

From the Polk County News and the Tryon Bee, Nov. 16, 1918

Death of Zeba Wilson

Cooper Gap township has been saddened by the death of one of her loyal boys, Ziba, son of Mr. T.N. Wilson, who with thousands of others give his life in the famous charge of Sept. 29th on the battle field of Europe.

Ziba was a loving son, a devoted brother, faithful friend, whose every thought in battle was of the better things in life. Ever active in Christian service, he was not one whom, after death, we begin to speak words of praise, but in life it might be said of him as of our Lord Jesus Christ, “He was about His Father’s business.”

May God comfort the bereaved ones.
