Brief Items from Franklin County, Feb. 11, 1921

Tar Drops

Cotton sold for 13 ½ cents in Louisburg yesterday.

Take it as a joke when you open that valentine on next Monday.

Its a fine 15-pound boy at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Joyner.

Mr. and Mrs. B.W. Ballard of Franklinton are the guests of Dr. and Mrs. R.F. Yarborough this week.

Franklin Superior Court will convene on Monday, February 21st, for the trial of Civil Cases, Hon. George W. Connor presiding.

Several days this week reminded one of Spring, and our citizens were indulging in discussions of what and when they were going to plant in their gardens.

A librarian confides to us that she was visited by a young lady who wished to see a large map of France. She was writing a paper on the battlefields of France for a culture club and she just couldn’t find Flanders Fields and No Man’s Land on any of the maps in her books.
