J.V. Reilly Shot George Cathey in Self-Defense, Says Coroner's Jury, Feb. 16, 1921

Asheville, Feb. 16—The coroner’s jury last afternoon exonorated J.V. Reilly, house detective of the Langreen Hotel, for killing George Cathey in the lobby of the hotel Monday night, the ury holding that Reilly shot in self defense. Reilly is a former service man, having served overseas with the First division, and was for some time connected with the military police at United States general army hospital at Oteen, near here. Cathey was a veteran of the Spanish-American war.
