The Bobbins Transfer Company of Lenoir, operating jitney cars from that place to Hickory, has been awarded the contract to carry the mail from Hickory to Lenoir. Only one round trip will be made a day—after 15 runs each morning.
It was hoped that an evening trip might be made, but this was not approved by the post office department.
The jitney will operate from Hickory to Rhodhiss, Granite Falls, Hudson and Lenoir and will make the trip in an hour and a half.
