Maurice Wescott, an old resident of this city and engaged in the tailoring business here for many years, is in the Norfolk, Va., Hospital expecting to undergo an operation which will deprive him of both of his lower limbs. He has been a victim of diabetes for several years and recently his condition became critical, gangrene taking place in his feet. Both feet will have to be amputated, it is said. Two weeks ago Mr. Wescott had to take to his bed. He was taken to the hospital last Sunday. He has closed up his tailoring business on Poindexter Street, giving directions that the things in his shop be put away somewhere because they will be of no more use to him.
