Four Suffer from Ptomaine Poison

Spencer, Aug. 10—Four persons are in a precarious condition as a result of ptomaine poison, said to have been caused from eating ice cream at the home of Mr. Chas. F. Withers in Spencer Tuesday. These include Mr. and Mrs. Withers, Mr. Grady Withers, a brother, and Mrs. A.H. Withers of Columbia, a visitor at the home. Mr. Chas. F. Withers is still in a serious condition with a temperature reaching 104, while the other victims are slightly improved. The cream was eaten in connection with a dinner served at the usual meal hour Tuesday.
