Raleigh, N.C., Oct. 20—the wonder team of the University of North Carolina, playing the intrastate classic on Riddick field here yesterday afternoon found in the green Wolfpack of State College dogged opposition never dreamed of and barely nosed out a victory by the score of 14 to 9. It was one of the toughest battles ever fought on the local field and was witnessed by a record audience of over 12,000 souls.
Failing to do any material damage to Carolina’s sturdy line the State squad resorted to the serial attack, which baffled the Chapel Hill lads and incidentally came very near throwing the victory to the West Raleigh camp for a time.
