Trial of Boyette’s Slayer in February

Witnesses from this city will attend the trial at Wilson in February of the negro slayer of Furney Boyette, former municipal employe here. Boyette was cut to death by an elderly negro in Wilson County the latter part of 1922. He had located in that county as a farmer. During his residence here he was keeper of Maplewood Cemetery and attached to the police department for a time. His death followed a quarrel. Boyette was literally hacked to death by the slayer. Character witnesses and relatives of the victim will attend the hearing from here.
