Greensboro, March 13—William Patterson, young white man, today drew the wrath of Judge A.M. Stack and the Guilford Superior courtroom generally when witnesses testified to brutal assaults made by the man upon his wife and small son, the judge giving him the limit two years on the roads, and expressing regret that the law does not fix the maximum penalty a larger number of years. It was testified that when he beat his boy the shirt of the latter was caked with blood.
