Mrs. W.S. Penny entertained Saturday evening at her home on Boylan Avenue in honor of Miss Nell Deans, who is a member of the graduating class this year. The home was artistically decorated with a profusion of sweet peas and white roses. The guests were met at the door by Mrs. Penny, and were ushered to the punch bowl, which was presided over by Miss Mary Williams.
Miss Beulah Rowland delighted the guests with a number of vocal selections, accompanied by Mr. Sullivan. During the evening, refreshments were served, consisting of ice cream, cake, and mints.
The following guests were present: Misses Nell Deans, Ruby Spainhour, Alice Lowe, Beulah Rowland, Margaret Overton and Irene Averitt; Messrs. Julian Steppe, Howard Summerell, Warren Mann, Pat Sullivan, Alton McIver, Walker McIver and Joe Davis.
