An open air band concert was given last evening by the students of the Conway Military School Band, Patrick Conway, conductor. In spite of the chilly temperature, a large crowd attended the concert an was greatly pleased with the work of the students. The program opened with (an) overture, “Lustpiel” by Keler-Bela, followed by several standard band selections. Cornet solo “Addah Polka” by Losey was played by Sandy Smith. Frank Baker played the trombone solo, “The Message” by Ellis Brooks. Two students, Carl Wild, saxophone, and Mr. Smith, cornetist, will play in Mr. Conway’s band this summer. –Conway News
