Fayetteville, March 22—A dog carrying a human ankle bone late yesterday led searchers to the body of John Breeze, 70-year-old eccentric, who disappeared from his home on the Fayetteville-Raleigh road near here last September, it became known here today. An inquest was to be held today.
David J. Breece, an uncle of the missing man, noticed the dog carrying the bone, and started the search. The dog led the way to a deep ravine, some distance from the home of Miss Rosa McLean, a niece of the dead man, with whom he lived. There it dug up a human skull.
The body was unearthed, and identified by clothing and other articles as that of John Breece.
The coroner’s jury today rendered a verdict that Breece came to his death as a result of natural causes. The body was buried today.
