Statesville, March 22—J. Gurney Wright, 49 years old, living in Eagle Mills township of Iredell county, committed suicide today by shooting himself with a shotgun. The family heard the report of a gun and search revealed his body in a granary. A long stick by means of which he had pulled the trigger was still in the trigger guard.
He left a note to his wife and children informing them of the amount of his estate, and that he was leaving everything to them.
His widow and eight children survive.
