New Bern, March 18—Sunday morning when Mr. H.E. Barlow arose for the day and upon going out upon his front porch, he found that some unknown person had thrown or deposited thereon a kit such is used by physicians and in which there were a number of surgical instruments.
Getting in touch with the police department, Mr. Barlow discovered that the kit was the property of Dr. Raymond Pollock and that it had been stolen from him on Saturday night, being taken from his car.
Upon examination, Dr. Pollock found that one or more instruments worth about $40 had been taken from the kit by the thief.
About two weeks ago some unknown person left two perfectly good pairs of shoes on Mr. Barlow’s front porch. Today he stated that any other contributions would be thankfully received, but that he hoped the donor would leave something that he could make use of.
