Newton, June 7—John Clarence Yount, one of Newton’s successful young business men, died at noon today at Long’s sanitorium in Statesville. About May 1 infection set in from a sore on his hand, then one knee became involved and later the poison spread to his whole system. He was taken to the hospital about three weeks ago, but medical skill could not arrest the disease.
Mr. Yount was the youngest of the three sons of Dr. and Mrs. J.H. Yount and was 36 years old. His wife is a daughter of E.H. Smith of Hickory. She and two children survive.
Several years ago, Mr. Yount built the Carolina Glove factory, which is one of the most important business enterprises in Newton. he was a man of fine business talen, enterprising and forward looking.
