Commencement exercises at Lenoir College beginning May 30 and ending June 4 will this year be marked by several speakers of considerable note. Chief among these is Rev. J. Henry Harms, D.D., who will deliver the baccalaureate sermon to the graduating class Sunday morning at 11 o’clock. Dr. Harms is originally from Savannah, Georgia, and is well known in the South, having been for a number of years president of Newberry College. It was during his presidency that the college made its most rapid and permanent growth. Since his resignation in 1918, Dr. Harms has been pastor of the Church of the Holy Communion in Philadelphia, one of the largest Lutheran churches in the city. He is a speaker of widely recognized ability and Lenoir is fortunate in securing his services on this occasion.
