Danville, Va., July 21—News was received here today of the tragic death of Delmar Rakes of Franklin county, who was accidentally shot by his four-year-old nephew. Rakes had just returned to his home after spending the day hunting and while giving an account of his success, placed the stock of his loaded gun on the ground and leaned over the muzzle. Unknown to Rakes the four-year-old child toddled to the gun and was playing with the trigger when the piece went off, literally blowing Rakes’ head from is body.
