Charlotte, July 19—Ninety per cent of the cotton mills of the United States have operated at a loss for the past several months, according to a statement here today by W.D. Adams, of this city, secretary of the American Cotton Manufacturers Association.
Conditions in the industry, he said, have been unusually distressing.
