Wilmington, July 22—A mule lay down and drowned in rain water on South Fifteenth street yesterday.
The mule had been walking around in front of the stable in the rear of the lot of Albert S. Flowers, 311 South Fifteenth and had gotten to a boggy place.
Neighbors noticed the animal kicking and splashing around in the water, that about half covered the mule. If the mule had not simply lay down and died, the animal would be living today.
The mule was owned by E.M. Flowers.
