Rommie Reid, negro, captured late yesterday afternoon in Stantonsburg Township by Deputy Sheriff Weathersby and Officers Russel Page and Walter Crocker of Stantonsburg faced a speedy trial before Justice of the Peace Owens and was bound over to Superior Court under $500 bond.
Reid was captured in a raid in the late afternoon, just as he was making a run with his outfit. The officers found two gallons of whiskey, which was being distilled when they appeared. The plant Reid was operating was of 50-gallon capacity.
The plant was torn down, and Reid arrested and taken to Stantonsburg, where he immediately faced trial on a charge of manufacturing intoxicating liquors.
