E.M. Blacklock, whose home is at 406 Ashton Place, has received word from his father, Charles Blacklock of Murphysboro, Ill., informing him that his aunt, Mrs. Wallace Blacklock, was killed in the recent disastrous tornado which passed over Illinois and four neighboring states Wednesday afternoon. The home of his father and that of his uncle, Wallace Blacklock, were destroyed. Mr. Blacklock’s father and mother and uncle escape without serious injury according to the message.
The town of Murphysboro suffered the horror of 200 persons killed and several thousands made homeless. Mr. Blacklock’s father and others are known to a number of persons in the city as a result of a visit made here by them during the last Christmas holidays and the information that they escaped the catastrophe without serious injury is heard with gladness by them.
