The Baptist Young People’s Union delightfully entertained Thursday p.m. from 8 to 10 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Colon Ammons in honor of Miss Alberta Butler. The decorations symbolic of Easter were lovely. The guests were met at the door by Misses Jessie Marley and Lina Chason, who invited them to the punch bowl, where punch was served by Miss Lena Marley and Mrs. Gates Dearen.

An Easter cross-word puzzle and “Men’s wives” contest was among the chief entertainment of the evening. Mrs. Walter E. Marley and Mr. Sam McGoogan won the cross-word puzzle and Prof. L.H. Fogleman and Miss Louise Wright won the contest. The prizes were in turn passed over to Miss Butler, honoree.

A delicious course of chicken salad with black coffee was served. On each plate was an Easter greeting as a favor. Later in the evening old-time games and special music were enjoyed. Afterwards block cream and cake were served. The honor guest prize was a bottle of perfume.
