Mt. Pleasant Cadets Lose to Wingate, 6-5, April 22, 1925

Mt. Pleasant Cadets Blow and Lose to Wingate 6-5. . . Visitors Made Six Runs in Sixth Inning, Enough to Beat Cabarrus Boys

Mt. Pleasant baseball team wen to pieces in the sixth inning of Tuesday’s fray and allowed Wingate to make six urns, thereby losing the scrap by a score of 6 -5.

Up to the fatal sixth, Mount Pleasant had maintained an air-tight defense and it looked like an easy victory for the cadets. Successive bobbles of easy chances however, gave Wingate a chance to circle the bases a sufficient number of times to ruin chances for a victory.

Thomason for the cadets pitched a good game and kept his hits well scattered. Finch also twirled well for Wingate.

Batteries: Mt. Pleasant, Thomason and Watts; Wingate, Finch and Huff.
