Mrs. J.A. Heilig of Rockwell, Rowan county, died at the Charlotte sanatorium shortly after midnight Saturday night. The remains were carried to Rockwell Sunday, and the funeral and burial took place there Monday.
Mrs. Heilig was one of the best known women of the Rockwell community and is survived by the husband and one son, G.P. Heilig, who for 13 years was principal of the Belmont school at Charlotte. The father and son were present with Mrs. Helig died. The deceased was a native of Cabarrus county, a daughter of the late George Locke Phifer, and her grandfather was Rev. Daniel Penick, for many years pastor of the old Rocky River Presbyterian church in Cabarrus county.
