Smyrna (Lumberton R. 4), Apr. 18—Everything seems to be moving along fine in the part of the county so far. Everybody seems to be in good heart so can do their work better. We hope we’ll be blest.
Smyrna school came to a close April 15th with one of the best concerts we believe as could be had. The attendance was large and some did not display very much intelligence and not any manners at all. We assured the teachers, Mrs. Wade Wishart, Mrs. Raymond Rowan and miss Mary Epps, that the exercises with all the rest of their services are very much appreciated.
We had a fine attendance at Sunday school Sunday p.m. Visitors may rest assured that they were most welcome, as we always like to have folks come to see us.
We’ll admit that the cross-word puzzle makes the devil a nice little tool, but it did serve one good purpose, as one woman used it for inventing a kind of a new style of a quilt, using it for a pattern.
Mrs. W.B. Davis is some what on the sick list.
We all want to remember the prayer-meeting at Smyrna every Sunday night at 7:30.
We thank the West Lumberton band for the music rendered at the concert at Smyrna Wednesday night.
