Gastonia, Dec. 22—Clifford Long, 53, said by police to be a “dope” addict, was discovered dead in an automobile near here today, after he had ridden four blocks on the way to his home in Belmont. The driver of the car, unknown, picked up the man in east Belmont. Looking back to this rear seat after going some distance, he discovered that his patient was dead.
