“Four More Deaths Reported in Raleigh,” from Hickory Daily Record, Oct. 9, 1918

Raleigh, Oct. 9—Four more deaths occurred here today as a result of Spanish influenza, two of the victims being students at the State College of Agriculture and the others being residents of the city. With a death last night of a child at the blind institute and another at the Catholic orphanage, the list is brought up to six.

The names of the men who died at the college were Andrew H. Andrews of Rockingham and Herbert McCoy of Elizabeth City.

The disease seems to be spreading in the city, but only one new case was reported at the college today. There are a number of students who are reported to be in a critical condition.
