222 More North Carolina Soldiers Officially Listed as Dead the Week Ending Dec. 5, 1918

From The Rockingham Post-Dispatch, Dec. 5, 1918. The Post-Dispatch was a weekly newspaper, so this list contains a week's worth of casualty reports. Hostilities ceased Nov. 11, but soldiers were still dying from wounds received in battle and from disease. Those listed "Killed in Action" died before the cease fire, but the Department of Defense held off on releasing some names to make sure that families were officially notified first.
