Wilson Ministers' Association Closes Churches Due to Epidemic

At a meeting of the ministers Association of the town of Wilson called in response of the Board of Health asking the churches to close on account of the epidemic, it was resolved:

First, that we call upon our people to unite in prayer to Almighty God for an abatement of this present epidemic.

Second, that announcement be made at the services Sunday morning that the churches will close and remain closed until December the 29th, except for services Christmas morning at any church where such service is required by the rules of that church.

Third, that all people be urged while the churches are closed to unite in prayers in their homes at the usual hours of public worship, praying for God’s blessing upon our country, for a speedy passing of the epidemic and for an early resumption of divine service, which we believe to be the greatest moral and spiritual power in our land.
