The entire town and community were shocked Tuesday, December 12th, when the news reached here of the death of James W. Cox Jr. which occurred somewhere in France Sunday, November 24th, from influenza. He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Cox. Besides his parents he is survived by a sister, Miss Lula Norris Cox. The sympathy of the entire town goes out to the family in their great sorrow. A memorial service will be held in his memory at the Elm City Baptist church Sunday, Dec. 22nd.
