Another Car Shooting, Oct. 12, 1919

From The Daily Times, Wilson, N.C., Oct. 13, 1919

Fired Into Car

Last night when Mr. Jesse Sadler, who drives a transfer, went to the home of Tom Boon’s to carry his granddaughter Emma Boon home, some one fired into the car and tore the roof of it all to pieces.

Sadler heard some one say, “You had better leave here or I will shoot,” and putting his car into high speed he went away. But this did not keep the load of shot from striking the top and doing considerable damage. It is said that Will Boon, the brother of Emma, did the shooting. She came back to town on the car, not having time to alight.
