Policemen Are Being Tried for the Murder of Five Men Killed in the Car Barn
Riots
Charlotte, Oct. 9 (29?)—William E. Orr, chief of police and the
other policemen of this city were placed on trial before a local magistrate
today on the charge of conspiracy and guilt in connection with the killing of
five members of the strikers at the car barns in the recent street car strike
in this city. The trial is expected to cover today and probably tomorrow.
