Coroner A.M. Smith was called to Hamlet Wednesday afternoon to investigate the death of an old colored woman, Annie Symmes. The old woman was found dead in bed in her room Wednesday morning, she apparently having died during Tuesday night. There was no indication of foul play, her death being due to natural causes.
