W.E. Shinn, former student of the Southern Industrial Institute at Chadwick-Hoskins, has broken all records at the North Carolina State College this year, according to Rev. J.A. Baldwin, president of the institute.
Shinn, who lives in Concord, was a student of the Southern Industrial Institute for two years and won the Evans-Wearn scholarship of $100 presented by the Liberty Hall Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy. He went to State College and made a good record. His record for the year just past shows that he made a grade of above 90 on 12 subjects, which the college authorities say breaks the record in scholarship for the institution.
