Ulysses Grant White, ’13, is farming near Greensboro. His address is Greensboro, N.C.

Dr. A.W. Hobbs of the University of North Carolina spent part of his Christmas vacation at Guilford and the remainder of it in New York City on business.

Clifford R. Hinshaw, ’16, is superintendent of schools at Aulander, North Carolina. In a recent letter Mr. Hinshaw said: “I have received your letters concerning the movement which has been set on foot to increase the endowment of Guilford College. I am indeed elated over the fact that something very definite is being done to raise the endowment of the college so that she may go on with her great work and continue to hold her place with the larger institutions of the state.”

The following announcements of Christmas marriages have been received:

Mrs. Vorda Nunn Henley was married on December 28 to Dr. Levi T. Miller. Dr. and Mrs. Miller will make their home at 236 Richmond Ave., Richmond, Indiana.

John G. White, ’19, on December 22 was married to Laura Campbell Smith of Mt. Olive, North Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. White will make their home in Mt. Olive. Mr. White is superintendent of schools in that city.

Irma Coble, ’14, on December 27 was married to William Lawrence Poole. Mr. and Mrs. Poole are now living in Raeford, North Carolina, where Mr. Poole is in business.

Gertrude Hobbs Kerner spent the Christmas vacation with her father and mother, Dr. and Mrs. Hobbs.

J. Fuller Yates, ’16, who is an electrical engineer in Toledo, Ohio, is visiting friends in North Carolina. He was at the college Sunday.

Other Christmas visitors at the College were Alice Dixon, ’10; Martha Doughton, ’11; Mary E. White, ’14; Blanche Dixon, ’15; Ruth Coble, ’17; and Mary Coble, ’20.
