The Matt Ransom Excelsior Literary Societies of Woodland Olney School will give a joint program Jan. 12. Four joint programs have been arranged for the school year, and a loving cup is given for the society winning the debate, which cup is held by the winner until same is won by other society at some succeeding program. The society which wins the cup three times during the year keeps the cup.
One joint program has been held thus far, at which time the cup was won by the Mat Ransom.
The next joint program will be held Friday night, Jan. 12, at 7:30. The program for the evening is:

Recitation—Anna Purvis.
Mixed Quartette.
Debate—Resolved, That County Superintendents of Public Instruction Should be Elected by a Popular Vote.
Affirmative: Glenn Griffin, Powell Joyner, Robert Griffin of the Matt Ransom.
Negative: Cleo Sauls, Beatrice Joyner, Hannah Griffin of the Excelsior.
Patrons and friends of the school are invited to attend.
