After a prolonged illness of over seven months, A.G. Phipps died at his home on Green street this morning at 1 o’clock. Mr. Phipps has been a great sufferer for a long period and death came through a complication of diseases.
The deceased was 53 years old and is survived by his wife and seven children. Owing to the lateness of the hour no definite announcements were made as to the funeral arrangements, but the funeral will probably be conducted from the home on Friday afternoon.
Before being stricken last fall, Mr. Phipps was employed as a mechanic at Liggett and Myers Tobacco Co., and was a valued employee of that company. He was active in work in his community and was recognized as an excellent citizen.
