Spruce Pine Going Back to Normal Fast. . . Mob Leaders Will be Tried at Special Term of Court October 27

Spruce Pine, N.C., Oct. 6—This place, in a state of turmoil for several days following the attack upon an aged white woman by a negro, is gradually reverting back to normal. E.L. Breen and Peter Bicks, who were arrested September 30, charged with breach of the peace and ?? to incite the people of this section by circulating a petition which alleged that Mayor A.N. Fuller was illegally holding office, were taken before Justice of the Peace Bennett today, the charges being nol prossed.

The two men were arrested on the charge that they further incited the people by the circulation of the petition against the mayor. Tuesday the sheriff of Mitchell county expected to arrest the leaders of the mob violence. These leaders, it is understood, will be tried at the special term of court ordered by Governor Morrison for October 27 when Judge T.B. Finley, resident jurist of the 17th district, will preside. John Goss, negro, who is charged with making the attack on the aged white woman, will also be tried at this time.
