D.M. Griffin Sold on Lespedeza Hay and Ford Lamps, Oct. 9, 1923

Mr. D.V. Griffin on Monroe Route 3 believes in two things—Fords and lespedeza. For two nights he raked lespedeza hay by the light of his Ford lamps until 12 o’clock, and he was charmed by the experience. He has a barn 50 x 70 feet already full of lespedeza and more to cut. He says he has cut 4 tons off one acre and was offered $20 a ton for it. Mr. Griffin things so much of lespedeza that he says he would not sow any other clover seed if they were given to him if he could buy lespedeza at $5 a bushel.
