Proof of Success of Albemarle Fertilizers on Eastern North Carolina Farms—Take for instance the 20 acres of cotton planted on Roanoke Island by A.W. Drinkwater, of the U.S. Weather Bureau office at Manteo. The photograph shoes Mr. Drinkwater’s cotton which was more than five feet high on the 18th day of August. More than 140 bolls were counted on an average stalk on August 18th by R.C. Job, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce of Elizabeth City. This crop was grown in the ordinary high, sandy, loamy type of soil on Roanoke Island where people never expected to see cotton grown. –Albemarle Fertilizer Co., J.H. LeRoy Manager, Elizabeth City, N.C.
