Deatheridge, Flippin Caught with 80 Gallons Whiskey, March 12, 1924

Two Men and Ford Are Taken. . . Car Contained About 80 Gallons of Whiskey—Found on Highway Near Germanton by Prohibition Agents

Will Deatheridge, a white man, and Walter Flippin, colored, were arrested near Germanton Tuesday by Federal Prohibition Agents when they were found on the highway in charge of a Ford car containing 80 gallons of whiskey. The car was broken down when the officers came upon it. Both men, who claim to be from Winston-Salem, were brought here and placed in the county jail, pending a preliminary hearing. The whiskey was also placed in the hail here.
