An automobile wreck which occurred early this morning at the intersection of Elizabethtown road and Walnut street resulted in serious damage to a Ford coupe driven by Mr. John S. McNeill and a Ford sedan driven by Mr. Theory Pate. No one was hurt.
Mr. McNeill was driving south on Walnut and Mr. Pate was going east. According to Mr. J.B. Bruton, owner of the car driven by Mr. Pate, the wheels on the sedan slid for several feet in an effort to avoid the collision. Mr. McNeill said he thought he could get across the street head of the other car and did not try to stop, that the other car was coming very rapidly but he thought the driver saw him and would slow up.
The rear wheels of Mr. McNeill’s car were broken. The front wheels of Mr. Bruton’s car were badly damaged and a whole punched in (the) crank case. the front of the sedan struck the rear of the coupe.
