When Mr. and Mrs. D.D. Carroll were rolling peacefully along the Durham road the other day in their sedan, a monster truck ran into them, smashed one wheel, crushed the hood and damaged the motor.
The truck did not stop. A University student happened to come along in a car and Mrs. Carroll, not being at all hurt, urged her husband to get in with the student and give chase. After a mile’s run the truck was overtaken. The driver of it assumed a look of surprised innocence and said he was not even aware of having collided with anything.
It turned out that the truck was owned by a business concern in Raleigh, the manager of which readily agreed to pay for the damages.
