Charlotte, N.C., March 1—Walter B. Orr tonight tendered his resignation as chief of police of the city of Charlotte, effective immediately. The only reason he assigned was a desire to engage in “personal business.”
Mr. Orr has been chief of police six years and connected with the police department there 16 years.
