Roberta Crawford Is Elected Y.W.C.A. President for Year 1924-25. . . Will Prove Very Wise Selection
In a most impressive and reverent manner the student body elected Miss Roberta Crawford president of the Y.W.C.A. for the year 1924-25 Monday night.
Just before the matter was taken up Pauline Patton, our present president, led us in a short prayer, which impressed us all with the seriousness and importance of the office which we were about to elect. Then Pauline told us in a few words the qualifications required of the girl who takes this responsible position. She showed that there were three characteristics which the president of such an organization must possess. First, sincerity, second, steadfastness, and finally consecration.
When one thinks of these and realizes the vital importance they have to the work of Y.W.C.A., one realizes what a wise selection we have made. In no other girl of the student body can we find these three characteristics more evident than in Roberta Crawford. We all feel perfectly sure that our Y.W.C.A. has a leader who will do wonderful things for it and us, and we are all looking forward to next year with Berta as our leader.
