John Seagraves Dies of Fractured Skull in Auto Accident, July 15, 1924

Mr. John Segraves Killed in Auto Upset

A fatal accident happened to Mr. John Segraves of Roaring River, at Brooks Cross Roads where the Statesville Road and the Boone Trail Highway intersect last Thursday afternoon about 5 o’clock.

More details of the accident are not known at this writing other than the automobile in which he and a brother were, turned over.

With his skull fractured, he was brought to the Wilkes Hospital, arriving in North Wilkesboro about 8 o’clock. Friday afternoon near 2:30 he breathed his last breath of life.

He was unmarried and about 30 years old. At 3 that afternoon his body was removed to the Ready Undertakers.
