How to Choose Plants for Harvesting Cotton Seed, Dec. 24 1924

Selecting Cotton Seed

The above group shows neighbors of Mr. T.E. Johnson of Four Oaks, Route 4, observing with County Farm Agent N.B. Stevens the selection of cotton seed in the field from individual stalks of proper type and early maturity. This cotton was grown by Robert Johnson, a club member, and the production was 1,810 pounds of seed cotton on three-quarters of an acre. The seeds were bought direct from Breeder in the spring, and from this selection he will have sufficient quantity of good seed for several acres of cotton next year.
