The two negroes who were shot last week at the Teachey settlement in the edge of Whiteville are still in a Wilmington hospital and are said to be improving.
The young Teachey negro who is about 12 years of age was shot by Will Jones, who also give his name as Roberson according to information. His mouth and ayes were badly torn up as a result of the load from the shot gun of Jones.
Rich Teachey, who was last week still at large, has been located and lodged in jail to await trial. The hearing will come as soon as the two negroes in the hospital are able to get back and stand a trial.
Last week this paper failed to give the fact that the 12-year-old Teachey boy was shot, but it seems that it was he who first shot, and then Rich Teachey opened fire on Jones after he had already emptied his gun on young Teachey.
