Wife Suffers Stroke at Husband's Funeral, Dies Days Later, Dec. 23, 1924

Husband and Wife Die Same Week

A death unusually sad in that it followed the death of her husband within one week was that of Mrs. J.A.T. Jones, who passed away at her home Sunday night. Mrs. Jones was stricken with paralysis during the funeral of her husband last Tuesday at Middle Creek church. She was taken home but never rallied, and the end came on Sunday evening just one week after her husband’s death. The funeral will be conducted today at Middle Creek and she will be laid beside the new made grave of her husband in Middle Creek cemetery.

Mrs. Jones was a member of the Methodist church, and the funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Mr. Fisher, who is pastor of the Methodist church, and Jesse Barnes, pastor of the Primitive Baptist church of this city.
